Support Services for Male Victims of Domestic Violence and Abuse

Are You a Man Who Has Experienced Domestic Abuse, Violence or Trauma? Introducing the first program of its kind.

The Canadian Centre for Men and Families is offering support services dedicated to men and open to all male identified people. Join us for positive, affirming and confidential support.

Our agency offers support for abused men and their families through the following services:
A first of its kind support group for men who have experienced domestic abuse (12 week closed group)
One-on-one trauma-informed counselling
Case management
Legal assistance
Direct referral to shelters partnering with us
Direct referral to additional services provided by third party partner organizations, including housing, social assistance and disability support.

Therapy objectives include:
The safety of survivors and their children
Understanding the impact of domestic violence and abuse on survivors
Awareness of feelings, personal belief systems, and problematic relational patterns
Problem-solving skills for living and thinking independently
Learning about resources available for support

A case manager helps participants access any additional support needed by:
Linking clients with community services, including those offered at our facility, 3rd party social service providers, and shelters
Building relationships with clients and community service providers, including shelters
Monitoring client progress

If you are in danger, we can refer you to Calgary shelters that are working in partnership with us.
