Program: “Contemporary Issues Facing Men”: A Biweekly Discussion Group

The second and fourth Friday of each month, from 18:30 to 19:30

Fee: Free!

Join us every other Friday at the Canadian Centre for Men and Families, for a discussion group to explore contemporary issues confronting men and boys. We welcome people of all genders, ethnicities, ages, political leanings and sexual orientations. Each get-together will have a proposed topic for discussion, but the talk can be wide-ranging so long as people are engaged by it. If you want to talk further about a speaker in our lecture series, or find out more about what the CCMF is all about, this is an excellent place for that as well.

Topics we propose to cover include:

o Society’s Expectations of Men and Boys
o Men’s Mental and Sexual Health
o The Importance of Seeking Support, and where to find it
o Issues Around sexual Consent
o Unemployment and homelessness
o Why are men and boys dropping out of school at a high rate?
o The legal system, and male Incarceration Rates
o Domestic Abuse
o Dealing with divorce, Separation, and Co-parenting

Light refreshments will be served, and there is no cost to attend. This is a drop in program.
