Remuneration: 8 weeks, 32 hours/week, $16.00/hour
About The Canadian Centre for Men and Families – Calgary
The Canadian Centre for Men and Families (CCMF) – Calgary has been in operation for over 4 years. We recently moved from part-time operations into a full-time Centre earlier this year. We have been supporting men and boys in need in the City of Calgary and surrounding areas for the past three years. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have successfully moved our programs into a virtual platform and continue to grow and expand our services.
We are an open, inclusive and safe hub for programs/services, workshops, research, advocacy, outreach and public education all focused on the health and wellbeing of boys, men, fathers and families. Our programs include:
– connecting men and boys with mental health support services
– a pay what you can counselling service with a Registered Psychologist
– a men’s peer support group focused on family law, custody and shared parenting
– a family law assistance clinic and resources directory
– a buddy-coach program that provides one-on-one peer support
– abuse support services for male victims of domestic violence
– fathering after separation/divorce coaching services
The Canadian Centre for Men and Families is governed by the Canadian Association for Equality (CAFE), a registered educational charity.
The Educational Programs Developer will assist in the creation and development of educational programs/workshops for the Canadian Centre for Men & Families – Calgary.
1. Review and editing of the existing programs/workshops offered by CCMF, namely: Fathering After Separation/Divorce (Shared Parenting); Male Survivors of Domestic Violence; Parental Alienation Awareness
2. Research and gaps/needs analysis of the programs/workshops currently being offered for men, boys, fathers and their families in Alberta
3. Creation and development of new programs/workshops that address the gap/needs identified in item 2, above
4. Creation and development of a Family Law Resources Checklist & Guidebook and related program/workshop
5. Development of lesson plans, power point slides c/w text/images and lecture notes for each/all of the programs/workshops.
The ideal candidate would have or be working toward a degree, diploma or certificate in one or more of the following areas or a related programs: education curriculum/course development, teaching, adult learning, communication studies and technical writing.
The candidate should have a high level of written and oral communication skills and work well both in individual and group settings. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating in English. Computer skills (word processing, power point presentations) and research skills are required.
